A new and totally modular optical fiber testing platform has been released by M2 Optics Inc. (Raleigh, NC) that can be easily user-configured for physical network simulation and other related testing applications.

The Fiber Lab Flex optical fiber testing platform is a 19” rack mountable chassis that accepts up to 10 removable modules, providing users with virtually unlimited configuration flexibility and scalability.  Each module can be loaded with up to 10km of any fiber type (by spec or brand) along with standard connectors, allowing for the easy mixing of different lengths and a “build-as-you-go” solution yielding totally repeatable results.

The platform features modules which can be used in the Fiber Lab Flex chassis or separately on a desktop, both offering a stability for producing consistent and repeatable results.  Typical applications include physical network simulation with multiple fibers in the laboratory, equipment certification, product development, quality control, and latency testing.

The Fiber Lab Flex optical fiber testing platform is priced according to both the fiber types and length configurations required.
