Real-Time Optical Network MonitorThe Fiber Monitor allows users to monitor their optical networks and receive instant alerts of intrusion attempts, line breaks/faults, and other issues that can affect data transmission.

Raleigh, NC - April 19, 2010

M2 Optics Inc., a leading provider of unique fiber optic solutions for test and measurement, announced the addition of a new line of products designed to monitor fiber optic networks. Manufactured by FiSEC GmbH, the Fiber Monitor offers real-time alerts of any data transmission issues using innovative COTDR technology. While offering basic alerts to complete network management, the solution is both affordable and easy to install and maintain, making it an ideal solution for a wide range of customers.

With the amount of information being sent via fiber optic networks on the rise, there are many benefits a solution like this can offer. Intrusion detection is a key concern of many organizations sending sensitive data, including government agencies and financial institutions. In addition, if a line is accidentally cut or there is a break, interruption to the data transfer can put a business at serious risk. The Fiber Monitor will detect any of these types of interruptions, while alerting the user in real-time so that service teams can be quickly deployed. Already being utilized by some of the world's largest financial organizations, government agencies, and data centers, this solution is proven to add value to IT operations.

"We are excited to partner with FiSEC in offering this solution to customers in the United States," states Kevin Miller, VP of Sales & Marketing. "The Fiber Monitor is an affordable solution for businesses that want to ensure their fiber optic networks are both protected and running smoothly at all times. With an increasing emphasis on data privacy, the Fiber Monitor is an easy addition to any company seeking to minimize data transfer issues and risks."

M2 Optics Unveils Affordable OTDR Launch Box for CATV & Telecom TechniciansFebruary 16, 2010 (Raleigh, NC) - M2 Optics Inc., a leading provider of packaged optical fiber for test and measurement, announced the release today of a new product for short length applications. The OTDR Sidekick is a compact, rugged test box useful to engineers and technicians maintaining fiber optic networks, as well as anyone requiring a short length of fiber (up to 1km) for testing procedures.

The Sidekick will be used primarily as a "launch box" or "pulse suppressor", which eliminates blind spots at the beginning of a fiber cable when testing using an Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) instrument. In addition to this application, the Sidekick can also serve as a fiber optic delay line, or useful for training & education.

"To this point, our packaged fiber solutions have all been better suited for medium to long distance testing applications," said Kevin Miller, Director of Marketing for M2 Optics. "With the addition of the Sidekick, we now cover the entire spectrum of fiber needs our customers may have."

Similar to many of their other products, the OTDR Sidekick provides a variety of options for a user to choose from. M2 has also stated that these new products will be offered at a very affordable price, making them an exceptional value to their customers.

M2 Optics Offers Extremely Rugged Optical Fiber Enclosure (Fiber Lab)The Fiber Lab 800HE provides an ideal solution for maximum protection of optical fiber spools, where heavy use and harsh environments are expected.

Raleigh, NC - December 8, 2009

M2 Optics, Inc., a leading provider of packaged optical fiber, announced the release of an extremely rugged enclosure for optical fiber spools. Designed specifically for situations where heavy use and/or maximum durability is required, the Fiber Lab 800HE gives engineers and technicians a portable solution for using up to 25km of any optical fiber in a laboratory or field setting.

Similar to their other Fiber Lab products, the 800HE can be used for optical network simulation, product development, delay line, and quality assurance testing applications. In addition, government/military, education, and equipment leasing firms can benefit as they all typically require extra-rugged equipment due to the nature of use.

"While our entire Fiber Lab line helps to protect optical fiber from damage, there are many applications where an extra level of durability is required," said Kevin Miller, Director of Marketing for M2 Optics. "The Fiber Lab 800HE offers all the same great benefits as our existing line, with the added protection for harsh environments."
